Marita Bullmann
Marita Bullmann’s performances are engagements with everyday objects: familiar materials, actions, spaces, and places, which are by no means neutral. Rather these objects connect with our sensual and emotional world of experience. However, it is often visual, temporal, haptic or acoustic elements that are determining in the work, allowing us to perceive the things around us in a new way. Her working method can be understood as a temporally ephemeral, site- and situation-specific process.
Marita studied photography at the Folkwang University of the Arts and performance art at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design with Adina Bar-On. She has shown her work throughout Europe, as well as in Israel, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, USA, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Bangladesh, Macau, the Philippines and China.
In 2011, she co-founded of PAErsche, an action laboratory that focuses on encounter and networking as a gift and form of cooperation. Since 2013, she has been the organizer of the performance art platform INTERVAL.
